Technical indicators Chinese buyers look at

1. Payable elements Lead or zinc primarily; silver is often priced separately as an associated element, with the deduction threshold and payable ratio set out in the contract.
2. Typical grade range Lead concentrate is commonly 50%–70% Pb; zinc concentrate 45%–55% Zn.
3. Key impurities Arsenic, cadmium, mercury, fluorine and chlorine are the focus; cadmium content in lead-zinc ore in particular should be confirmed in advance.
4. Note on oxide ores The mineral phase and source of zinc-oxide and lead-oxide ores must be documented clearly, so the cargo is not classified under some other status.

Admissibility and compliance points

1. Zinc-oxide and lead-oxide ores make up a large share of Myanmar-origin supply; phase analysis and a source statement should travel with the cargo.
2. Where associated silver content is significant, the assay must cover silver and match the contract's pricing clause; otherwise disputes surface at settlement.
3. How an exceedance of hazardous elements is handled — penalty, return shipment or disposal on the spot — should have its responsibility allocated in the contract in advance.

1. Qingshuihe–Mengding (road) Myanmar zinc-oxide ore, lead-oxide ore and tin concentrate.
2. Houqiao–Kanpaiti (road) Myanmar lead-zinc ore.
3. Pingxiang–Lang Son / Aidian (road) Vietnamese lead concentrate and ore sand, silver concentrate and ore sand.
4. Khorgos / Alashankou Central Asian lead-zinc concentrate, which can share a corridor with copper concentrate.
