Technical indicators Chinese buyers look at
- Payable elements Tin or tungsten (as WO₃) primarily; on high-grade material, impurity penalties move the settlement figure noticeably.
- Typical grade range Tin concentrate is commonly 40%–65% Sn; tungsten concentrate 55%–65% WO₃.
- Key impurities Arsenic, iron, copper and bismuth matter most for tin concentrate; for tungsten concentrate the focus is phosphorus, sulphur and tin content.
- Sampling requirements With small lots and high unit prices, the representativeness of the sample decides the settlement figure directly. We recommend three-party sealed samples and a named arbitration laboratory.
Admissibility and compliance points
- Some exporting countries manage tin and tungsten under export licences; confirm the licence status and validity before quoting.
- Values are high but volumes small, so continuity of title documents and storage records matters especially. We suggest running a first order as a small lot through the entire process.
- Where a tungsten product is already a further-processed form, its classification and regulatory conditions differ from concentrate and need separate confirmation.
